Rene Bouvier, Bourgogne Rouge 2022

For 3 generations the Bouvier family has been farming in the famed region of the Cote de Nuits, dating back to 1910 when Henri Bouvier founded the domaine in Marsannay. Since 1992 the domaine has been run by Rene's son, Bernard. Bernard has continued the family name, making wines if great character and quality. They have operated organically since 2009 and have acquired a bit more property outside of Marsannay as well. The Bourgogne is one of our favorite Bourgogne's, juicy and concentrated with an elegant streak. The wines are 40 years old, vinified 50% whole cluster with punchdowns and punchovers. The wine is raised for 12 months in barrel, 20% of which is new, then followed by 6 months in stainless steel. Unfined and unfiltered.
