Mugneret Gibourg, Vosne Romanee 2011

Iconic domaine, led by the the Mugneret sisters, Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée oversee one of Vosne Romanée's most renowned estates in an ever diligent yet warm manner. The domaine was founded by their grandfather, Andre Mugneret in 1933 but for the past three decades, “The Sisters” have run the winery in partnership with their mother, Jacqueline, who remains “the spirit of the domaine.”

Village level wine from a less than favorable vintage, but we've tried this and its lovely. Perfumed, floral, delicate and elegant but still holding its own with notes of cherry and rose petal and delicate tannins. A beautiful wine, showing in the right hands even village level from difficult vintages can be a treat.
