Antoine Sunier, Regnie, "Montmerond" 2023

Antoine found his way to winemaking in Beaujolais by way of his brother Julien Sunier, who began making wines in Fleurie in 2008. Though from Burgundy, the Sunier family never owned any vines and Antoine at first found a job in telecommunications while visiting his brother and friends in Beaujolais for pleasure. However, soon enough he decided to give into the pull and began viticulture school in 2012 and set up a winery in Regnie in 2014. Since then, and after worked with Lapalu and Chateau de Premaux, Antoine has been making moves in Regnie and Morgon. This bottling comes from old vines and has a charming mix of rasberry, cherry fruits and thyme, pine, and spice. A lovely mix of power and delicacy, meatiness and grace.
