Jean Baptiste Hardy, Clos de Lozangere 2022, Loire Valley

The 2022 Clos de Lozangère by Jean-Baptiste Hardy is a Muscadet from the Loire Valley, crafted exclusively from Melon de Bourgogne grapes sourced from massale selections planted in 1950. Situated in Mouzillon, this single-vineyard wine benefits from a southern exposure and soils rich in sandy loam over gabbro, imparting a unique minerality to the wine. Vinified using native yeasts, it undergoes 12 months of aging on the lees in 450L barrels, followed by 6 months in glass-lined underground tanks, all without fining or filtration. The result is a wine with a complex bouquet of poached orchard fruits, oyster shell, and baked pastry, complemented by a crisp, stony texture and a tangy, fresh finish
