Fratelli Alessandria is a historic, family-run winery in Verduno, one of Barolo’s northernmost villages known for producing particularly elegant, aromatic Nebbiolo. Their Barolo del Comune di Verduno is a village-level expression crafted from several estate sites, including parcels close to Monvigliero. The 2021 vintage is proving to be a standout year—structured, energetic, and finely balanced, with strong aging potential.
Verduno has rapidly become one of Barolo’s most admired communes, celebrated for wines that emphasize finesse, fragrance, and charm. Fratelli Alessandria is a reference-point producer here, and this village bottling is an ideal introduction to both Verduno’s character and the estate’s polished, traditionally minded approach. It offers classic Barolo personality at a more accessible price than single-vineyard releases.
A lifted bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, and rose petal, layered with notes of licorice, anise, and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a clean, mineral-inflected finish. Elegant, silky, and precise.
