Hudelot Noellat, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2011

This is one of my favorite examples of Clos Vougeot year in and year out and the 2011 is another classic in the making. The beautifully refined nose delivers scents of cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, gamebirds, a complex base of soil and a stylish framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely reserved, with excellent purity and focus, fine mid-palate concentration, ripe, firm tannins and excellent grip on the well-balanced and very long finish. Fine juice. Drink between 2023-2060.
