The 2019 St. Innocent Freedom Hill Chardonnay from Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a refined, cool-climate white wine crafted from Dijon-clone grapes. Sourced from the Freedom Hill Vineyard, its coastal influence helps preserve bright acidity and layered complexity. Pale straw in color, it opens with aromas of earth, lemon verbena, and warm sourdough with apple butter. The palate reveals flavors of chamomile tea, honeyed lemon, roasted walnuts, and donut peach. Aged 11 months on lees in used French oak and completed malolactic fermentation, it shows depth, texture, and a mineral finish. At 13.5% ABV, it’s vibrant yet age-worthy.
