Piero Busso, Barbaresco San Stunet 2021, Piedmont

The Pierro Busso estate is based in the Albasani Cru in Nieve. The San Stunet bottling is the estate's only wine from the Treiso commune to the Nieve's south, where the wines typically have flavors that are slightly darker fruited and more herbal with a more strident tannic profile. This cru is normally associated with its remarkable tannins and exceptional freshness from bright acid. A more linear / vertical wine than other wines in the estate's line up, needing a little more time to resolve itself.  

San Stunet is at 400 meters altitude on calcareous sand and blue marls - south east facing. A site that usually ripens 10 days later than the others. 1.5 hectares owned.

Natural yeast fermented in stainless steel. Aged 2 years in 25HL barrels.
