Jo Landron is one of the key figures responsible for elevating Muscadet from simple, briny white to a region capable of producing deeply expressive, age-worthy wines. Working in the Sèvre et Maine subzone of the Loire Valley, Landron has spent decades championing organic and biodynamic viticulture, long before it became fashionable — with an unwavering belief that healthy soils are essential for true terroir expression.

Since taking over his family domaine in the 1980s, he has led a quiet revolution in the region, moving away from industrial farming and focusing on low yields, native yeasts, and extended lees aging. His wines are precise, mineral, and structured — often grown on distinct soil types like gneiss, orthogneiss, and amphibolite — each cuvée offering a different voice of Muscadet’s underrated terroir.

La Louvetrie is from the highest vineyards in the domaine, grown on sandy loam soils and farmed organically in the heart of the Sèvre et Maine. Bottled without fining after 6-12 months, this is the classic Muscadet bottling from the winery. Crisp acidity and good levels of minerals lead into a fullish wine that remains fresh and vibrant till the end.

Thanks to his work, Muscadet is now firmly on the map for serious wine lovers, and Jo Landron’s name has become synonymous with quality, integrity, and place.
